Made by a seller, for sellers

The show goes on.
So does Backstage.

With Backstage, shipping prep finishes while the show is still running. Without it, you're writing item-and-buyer post-its all night and packing boxes the next morning. Scrub the slider — that's what your show feels like.

      What Backstage does

Shipping prep happens during the show.

The real time-saver isn't faster labels. It's that by the time you end the show, your items are already grouped, labeled, and ready to box — no post-show treasure hunt through a pile of inventory.

      01

      Sale capture, no typing

Backstage watches the show in the background and captures every sale the moment Whatnot shows it. Handle, item, price — already filled in. You touch nothing.

      • Whatnot WebView in app
      • Captures sales, raids, giveaways
      • Snapshots on the moment of purchase
      02

      Bins that follow the buyer

The first item a buyer wins gets a bin number. Every later win that night drops into the same bin. So you're not packing post-show — items are already grouped by buyer when the show ends.

      • Auto-assigned, sequential
      • Reused across the show
      • End-of-show = boxes ready
      03

Labels at the speed you sell

Connect a thermal printer once. Backstage prints a sticker per buyer at the moment of sale, with the bin number front and center. The label tells your future self what goes where.

      • Bluetooth + USB printers
      • Rollo, Zebra, Brother
      • Bin label or full shipping label
      The real time-suck

How many hours would you get back?

Most live sellers report hours of packing after a show — locating items, grouping them by buyer, taping boxes, labeling. Backstage cuts that to checking the boxes that are already grouped, printing a label, and out the door. Three numbers, real math.

      hours back, every week
      hours per year
      min per show with us
      @ $25/hr value

Rough estimate. The numbers are based on what other Whatnot sellers have told us their actual post-show time looks like. Your real shipping pace will depend on your stock, your printer, and the kind of week you're having.

      More than label printing

      Built where you stand.

Other live-selling tools cover label printing. The manual workflow covers the post-show grind. Backstage covers what comes before the show, during the show, and (soon) the consignor side of the show — all on the device you're holding.

We don't name names. The other live-seller tools out there are real products built by real teams. What's different about Backstage is the device it runs on and how much of the show it covers — before, during, and (soon) on the consignor's end too.

      Made for you, specifically

Let's see how Backstage helps your shop.

Drop your Whatnot handle. We'll write you a one-paragraph read on what Backstage would change for your particular kind of show.

The pitch is written on the fly by Workers AI on Cloudflare's edge. We don't store your handle past the cache window. We don't access your Whatnot account.

      Questions

      Things people ask first.

More in Support. Or just email us.

Which platforms does Backstage work with?

Whatnot today, with eBay Live and a few others in active development. The capture architecture isn't platform-specific — adding a new one is mostly a UI integration.

What devices does it run on?

iPad and iPhone (App Store, currently TestFlight), Mac/Windows desktop, and a Chrome extension for the laptop-first workflow. One account works across all three.

Do I need a special printer?

Any reasonably modern thermal label printer with Bluetooth or USB. We've been tested on Rollo X1040, Zebra ZD410/ZD420, and a handful of Brother models. If you have something unusual, write us and we'll add support.

Does my data leave my device?

By default, no. Sales, buyer info, photos, and manifests stay on your device in an encrypted local store. You can opt in to cloud sync if you want backup or multi-device.

      How much will it cost?

Free during beta. When we move to paid plans you'll get fair warning, a chance to review pricing, and the option to keep using or step away. No surprise charges.

Can I use it for consigned inventory?

Yes. Consignment mode lets you tag items by consignor and produce per-consignor manifests at end-of-show.
